MedTec AI is cloud EHR and practice-management software for small and medium medical practices in the United States. Charting, scheduling, billing, telehealth and reporting run in one platform, with an AI scribe built into the chart rather than sold alongside it. MedTec AI is the trading name of Medtec Inc, a software company based in Gaithersburg, Maryland. We sell software to medical practices; we do not provide healthcare.
The practices we build for are the ones enterprise software was never designed around: solo clinicians, small clinics, and mid-sized multi-provider groups that need the capability of a large system without the implementation project, the consultant, or the contract that comes with one.
How we think about AI in a medical record
An AI feature in a clinical system is only useful if a clinician can trust what it produces. Three rules govern how ours works, and they are not marketing positions, they are constraints on the product.
You sign everything
No note, order or message leaves the chart without a clinician reviewing and signing it. Every draft is marked unsigned until you approve it. The assistant produces a starting point, never a finished record, and it never acts on its own.
Answers cite their source
When the assistant answers a question from the record, it links to the encounter, result or document the answer came from. An answer you cannot check is an answer you should not act on, so we do not ask you to.
Your data stays yours
Patient data is never used to train models for anyone else. Encryption, role-based access, audit logging and a signed BAA are part of the platform rather than an upgrade, because HIPAA applies to AI too.
Why our pricing is on the website
Most EHR vendors quote. We publish: a free plan that is genuinely free rather than a trial, a clinical plan at $55 per provider per month with no setup fee and no long-term contract, and modules priced per practice so a growing team is not penalised for hiring. A practice should be able to work out what software will cost before it books a call, and change its mind monthly if that changes.
